CALLUM'S RACE REVIEW

"I was pleased with my lap in qualifying, I was running P1 for most of the session and the car was feeling really quick. I was improving on my final run but made a small mistake on the final corner which probably cost me pole position, but overall, really happy with our performance and another front-row start. In the Feature Race, overall it was a good result and one myself and the team can all be happy with. I got a decent start and stayed in the podium places at the first stop. It was really tight between the two tyre strategies and we were debating the alternative option but when you’re on the front row you tend to go with the safer option. From our side, it was a really strong race and I feel I showed how much I’ve improved my tyre management.

The start wasn’t too bad in the Sprint Race and I had a good battle with Louis, going side-by-side, and managed to get ahead of him around the outside, which was nice. I held third for a while and it was going well. I maybe got a bit close to Latifi in front, but I was also wary of Matsushita behind me as I thought he’d be quick. Then with the Virtual Safety Cars, I kept getting it in the wrong place – in the most inefficient places – so I lost some time to Sette Camara who was chasing me down and I then struggled for grip at the restarts. P4 is not a bad finish considering everything. It's been a solid weekend.

I’d like to say a big thanks to the team for their efforts and support all year. I want also to thank Antonin Charouz and of course Bob Vavrik who believed in me and helped to give me this chance."
