CALLUM'S RACE REVIEW

'This weekend was a pretty steep learning curve for me but I feel there are lots of positives to build on. I made a small error in qualifying (similar to Lewis Hamilton in 2008) which put me on the back foot for the races.

Bahrain is a high tyre degradation track and so track position is key to tyre preservation. My first stint was not good enough and I had to pit five laps earlier than planned. This then compromised the second stint as the tyres gave up on the last laps.

I was told before the race that Bahrain is a high tyre degradation track and I now know what that really means.

At Bahrain, the best Sprint race strategy is to pit for new tyres but I had damaged my set in qualifying and they could not be used. It was pretty much an impossible task to make significant progress from the back half of the grid on one set of tyres".
